Who we are
Christ Church exists to worship our Triune God, to help people know and walk with Him faithfully, and to extend the glory and fame of Jesus Christ throughout Elk River, the Twin Cities, and the world.
Our congregation formed 2026 as a mission church of Christ Church Twin Cities, which is part of the Communion of Reformed Evangelical Churches (CREC).
We believe deep doctrine and Biblical truth should cause us to love God and others better. We are thankful for the many faithful churches God has raised up in the Twin Cities, and we seek to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.
Together with all other Christian churches, we embrace the Ecumenical Creeds. Our doctrinal confession includes the Three Forms of Unity (1618) and the Westminster Confession of Faith (1646). Given the current cultural confusion on the issues of gender and sexuality, the CREC has articulated its position in its ‘Statement on Sexuality.’
Though presbyterian in church governance, membership at Christ Church Twin Cities includes both baptist and paedobaptist families. Our church constitution can be found here (it is currently the same as Christ Church Twin Cities’ constitution).
Our Leadership
Kyle Grindberg
Kyle and Whitney were maried in 2014 and now have 4 kids. Kyle received his Master of Divinity from Bethlehem College and Seminary in 2024, received licensure from Tyndale Presbytery and was ordained by Christ Church Twin Cities in 2025.

Daniel Ralph
Daniel Ralph, his wife Susan and five children have recently moved from Scotland to be the Pastor of Christ Church Twin Cities.

Arnie Abens grew up in a cornfield in Illinois, catechized and trained by Godly parents, pastors, and teachers. Arnie enjoys raising cattle, collecting chicken eggs, and golfing. Most of all he enjoys spending time with his family, especially his wife of 37 years, Jennifer. They have four children, four children in-law, and eight grandchildren. Most Saturdays you will find them all enjoying a Sabbath feast together! Arnie is a Pastor/Elder at Christ Church Twin Cities.
Pro Tem ElderJoost Nixon
Joost and Kristen Nixon have been married for over thirty years and together have eight children. They have lived in South Africa and Greece serving in pastoral training, and in between Joost pastored and planted churches in the NW. Since 2016 Joost has worked with Training Leaders International, which aims to strengthen the church by sending teachers to equip leaders who have low or no access to robust, biblical theological education. Joost is the Pastor of Global Missions at Christ Church Twin Cities.
